Five years ago today, as Americans and allies remained trapped in Afghanistan, a group of patriots transformed an urgent volunteer rescue effort into Project DYNAMO.
They created a formal, accountable American rescue organization built to rescue Americans and allies from dangerous places when governments cannot or will not act.
Among its original founders was Stan Bunner, who became Project DYNAMO’s Corporate Secretary at its inception and continues to serve in that role today.
On the day Project DYNAMO was founded, Bunner discussed the new civilian rescue effort publicly on Patriot Talk. The Florida’s Voice account of that appearance, published on August 26, 2021, is the first known news report to mention Project DYNAMO by name.
Since then, Project DYNAMO has become and remains the only American rescue organization to have rescued more than 8,100 Americans and allies. Its teams have conducted more than 600 missions across more than 50 countries.
Others who once served with Project DYNAMO have gone on to create organizations of their own. Those organizations do not replace Project DYNAMO or inherit its history, missions, or rescue totals.
Project DYNAMO has no successor because Project DYNAMO is still here, the same organization founded on August 24, 2021, carrying its mission forward today.
