FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 5, 2026
Project DYNAMO announces the appointment of Bruce G. Valentine, Jr. to its Advisory Board, bringing decades of intelligence operations and senior leadership experience to the organization’s global rescue and humanitarian mission.
Valentine spent 26 years in the Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations, rising to become Associate Deputy Director for Operations. Across more than 33 years of professional and federal service, he led intelligence operations, directed officers in the field and oversaw complex missions around the world.
At CIA headquarters, Valentine helped shape global operational policy, oversaw covert action and highly compartmented programs, and represented the Agency in international and interagency forums. He directed all CIA operations in the Western Hemisphere and led operations covering Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
His overseas service included three tours as Chief of Station and one as Acting Chief of Station, commanding CIA operations and managing relationships with foreign intelligence services. As the Director of National Intelligence’s representative, he coordinated U.S. intelligence activities in-country. He also served as Deputy Chief of Station at four stations and as Chief of Operations at a large station in a war zone.
Valentine later taught the tradecraft used to prepare the next generation of CIA operations officers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in international affairs from Georgetown University, completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, and speaks Russian, Serbian and Macedonian.
His experience leading teams, working across borders and making decisions under pressure adds depth to DYNAMO’s Advisory Board and supports the judgment and preparation required to bring people to safety amid conflict, disasters and other crises.
Welcome to the line, Bruce.
