TAMPA, Fla. (June 17, 2025) — Project DYNAMO completed the first successful evacuations of Americans out of Israel on Tuesday as the Middle East faces escalating violence following Israel’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and military leadership.

The U.S. veteran-led, donor-supported nonprofit successfully brought two groups of Americans totaling 47 U.S. citizens to safety, including 17 from Tel Aviv and 30 American veterans on a retreat in Jerusalem with the group Heroes to Heroes.

The evacuees crossed the Jordanian border around 8 a.m. EST and are planning to return to their respective homes across the U.S.

Project DYNAMO has deployed teams to Cyprus, Israel and Jordan to help evacuate Americans who are unable to leave due to the hostilities between Iran and Israel.

“While we are proud to report that our first two evacuations have been completed successfully, we are working to evacuate hundreds more and desperately need funding to continue completing these operations,” said Mario Duarte, CEO of Project DYNAMO. “These operations are costly and we encourage anyone in a position to contribute to visit our website, projectdynamo.net to give today.”

Project DYNAMO is assisting American citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, and allies of the United States. The organization urges anyone in need of evacuation to register at https://projectdynamo.net/global-evacuation-request/.

Since its founding in 2021, Project DYNAMO has rescued more than 7,000 individuals from conflict zones and disaster areas, including Afghanistan, Ukraine, Mexico, Haiti, Sudan, and Israel. The group previously evacuated hundreds of Americans from Israel following the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas.

Backed by a global network of former U.S. Special Operations and intelligence professionals, Project DYNAMO is uniquely positioned to conduct high-risk rescue missions where traditional options are unavailable. The organization’s work is funded entirely by donors.

Donations to support ongoing rescue operations can be made at https://projectdynamo.net.
