HOUSTON – Project DYNAMO advisory board member Sara Carter was appointed Friday by President Donald Trump to serve as the nation’s next “Drug Czar” in the role of Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Carter, an award-winning investigative journalist and war correspondent, has dedicated her career to exposing critical issues of national security, terrorism and immigration. Additionally, she has served as an advisory board member to Project DYNAMO since 2024.

“Sara has an unwavering commitment to justice and truth and we believe she is the ideal choice for this vital role,” said Mario Duarte, CEO of Project DYNAMO. “Her extraordinary network of trusted sources and deep knowledge of security issues will be a major asset in the nation’s fight against drug trafficking. We are thrilled to see her continue her impactful work in this new capacity. Congratulations Sara!”

“Sara is an award-winning journalist, who has been on the front lines of this international fight for decades. From Afghanistan to our border, Sarah’s relentless pursuit of justice, especially in tackling the Fentanyl and Opioid Crisis, has exposed terrorists, drug lords, and sex traffickers,” Trump said in a Truth Social post Friday. “As our next Drug Czar, Sara will lead the charge to protect our nation, and save our children from the scourge of drugs.”Carter’s work has earned multiple accolades, including the SPJ Award and the National Headliner Award.
