HOUSTON – Former U.S. Representative to the United Nations General Assembly, attorney and respected business leader, Margarita “Maggie” Paláu-Hernández, Esq., has joined the Project DYNAMO advisory board, according to a press release issued Tuesday.
Paláu-Hernández is the founder and CEO of Hernández Ventures, a private enterprise involved in Spanish media, business and real estate ventures. She also currently serves on the board of directors of International Flavors and Fragrances and Conduent Inc. Previously, Paláu-Hernández served on the boards of Occidental Petroleum, Xerox, Herbalife Nutrition, Apartment Income REIT and ALJ Regional Holdings.

In 2018, Paláu-Hernández was nominated to serve as a representative of the United States to the 73rd session of the U.N. General Assembly. She has also held leadership roles on numerous academic and cultural boards, including as chair of the Yale School of Management Council of Global Advisors and vice chair of the Smithsonian National Latino Board.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of San Diego and a UCLA School of Law alumna, Paláu-Hernández began her career as an attorney with the law firm McCutcheon, Black, Verleger & Shea, focusing on domestic and international business and real estate transactions.
Her appointment to Project DYNAMO’s advisory board underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to engaging accomplished, principled leaders in support of its global humanitarian and counter-crisis missions.
Founded during the U.S. pullout from Afghanistan in 2021, Project DYNAMO is an international search, rescue, aid and assistance 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Tampa, Florida with worldwide operations. Project DYNAMO operates where the United States government cannot, or does not. The primary objective of Project DYNAMO is to provide assistance to those impacted in disaster areas and conflict zones throughout the world. Notably, Project DYNAMO conducted the first air-rescue missions from Afghanistan after the Taliban took control, and has negotiated the release and exfiltrated numerous Americans from captivity and false imprisonment.
