PIKE COUNTY, Ky. – Project DYNAMO, America’s premier private search and rescue organization, has deployed to Pike County, Kentucky to assist in rescue operations and provide humanitarian aid following the recent deadly flooding in the region.
The veteran-led, donor-funded team is working closely with officials in the county to ensure effective coordination and support in rescuing survivors and distributing aid.
The Project DYNAMO team arrived to the area Tuesday officially commencing OPERATION: BOURBON PROOF.
As the organization rapidly responds, their experienced team of military and special forces veterans is working to locate survivors and provide immediate assistance. Project DYNAMO’s efforts will also include dropping off blankets, diapers, baby formula and other critical supplies to affected areas.
“Our team is comprised of American patriots, and, as always, we are committed to supporting our fellow Americans in times of crisis,” said Mario Duarte, president and CEO of Project DYNAMO. “Whether we are abroad rescuing Americans from warzones and terror, or we are at home supporting relief efforts, our goal remains the same: to help our fellow citizens in their times of need.”
The recent flooding has caused widespread destruction across west Tennessee and Kentucky and has killed more than a dozen people. Heavy rainfall has led to significant flooding in several counties, prompting flash flood emergencies and mandatory evacuations. Many residents were forced to flee their homes as floodwaters covered streets, submerged vehicles and damaged homes and businesses. Some areas received up to seven inches of rainfall.
Future weather predictions indicate the possibility of additional rainfall in the coming days, raising concerns about further flooding and damage, and Project DYNAMO is on the ground to provide assistance.
