The “digital Dunkirk” campaign highlights the ongoing effort to evacuate US allies from Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover of Kabul. Thousands have attempted to flee the country by any means necessary as Taliban troops are reported to carry door-to-door searches to weed out any opposition to their rule. Veteran soldiers are now playing their part in the crisis from overseas, using satellite images to locate safe routes out of the country.
The veterans are saving Afghan interpreters who helped coalition forces during the War in Afghanistan, which began in 2001.
