Legendary Special Forces General Joins Project DYNAMO Advisory Board

TAMPA, Fla. — Project DYNAMO announced today the appointment of Major General (Ret.) Edward M. Reeder Jr. to its advisory board, bringing decades of elite military leadership and global operational expertise to the nonprofit’s growing network of national security and defense professionals.

Reeder retired from the U.S. Army after nearly 35 years of distinguished service, spending the last 30 years as a Special Forces Officer. He commanded at every level within the U.S. Army Special Forces, culminating his career as the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Special Forces Command. In this role, he oversaw 15,000 soldiers and managed a $450 million operating budget to deploy Green Beret forces operating in 56 countries worldwide.

He also served as Commanding General of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, directing training for Army Special Forces, Psychological Operations, and Civil Affairs, as well as advanced programs for the broader special operations community.

Reeder’s operational career includes leading combat and advisory missions across Central America, the Middle East, and South Asia. His notable assignments include serving as the National Civil Defense Advisor to El Salvador, commanding Special Forces elements during Operation JUST CAUSE in Panama, and leading multiple Special Operations Task Forces in Afghanistan under Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation FREEDOM SENTINEL. In his final deployment, he commanded the Special Operations Joint Task Force and NATO Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan, overseeing 12,500 personnel from 21 allied nations and managing a $1.3 billion budget.

Reeder joins a distinguished advisory board that includes intelligence and national security professionals, law enforcement leaders, decorated combat veterans, and international business executives. Current members include retired senior federal official Humberto “Bert” Hernandez; former CIA Paramilitary Officer Félix Rodriguez; law enforcement and counterterrorism expert Mark Mancuso; Benghazi veteran and Marine Corps combat leader Mark “Oz” Geist; and global business executive and United Nations representative Margarita Paláu-Hernández, Esq.
